Dear Parents,

Our success as a school reflects the high level of support and partnership of our Carlyle community.  Together we continue to make significant gains towards becoming a Primary International Baccalaureate School. 

Creating an IB school is about offering our students a curriculum with Internationally meaningful content while also addressing local and community matters.  The emphasis is upon “learning how to learn or learning by doing” and collaborative learning. This is accomplished through meaningful inquiry-based projects.  These projects are similar to what the teachers are already doing, but with an emphasis on global awareness and the skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to participate in our global society.

Please note, on page 13 of this agenda ,that our new code of conduct called “Essential Agreements reflects this IB Philosophy.  Above all an IB program is about developing people with the following skills and attitudes.  Please join us in our efforts to develop your child so that she/he is :
