Repercussion Theatre

MONTREAL, APRIL 20, 2012 – Continuing a nine year old tradition, on April 20th, students from Royal Vale Elementary School (5851 Somerled) in N.D.G will once again be participating in the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Jump Rope for Heart event. Cheering them on will be international wrestling icon and Olympian Martine Dugrenier.

From 8:15 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., all 364 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 will be participating in the Jump Rope for Heart. Dugrenier will be on hand to cheer on the students from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Hailing from Notre-Dame-de-Grace, Dugrenier is a 3-time World Champion (2008, 2009 and 2010), 8-time National Champion and finished 5th at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. She will also be representing Canada at this summer’s Olympics in London, England.

Under the guise of Norman Katz, since 2003, Royal Vale has raised over $145,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation through Jump Rope for Heart – including $20,143 last year alone. The school is recognized as the highest grossing fundraiser for this event in Quebec.
