MONTREAL, NOVEMBER 15, 2012 – Olympic gold medal winning freestyle skier Alexandre Bilodeau will visit the Mackay Centre School (3500 Decarie Boulevard) on Monday, November 19 (9 a.m.).

Bilodeau won a gold medal in the men's moguls at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, becoming the first Canadian to win gold at an Olympics held in Canada. Mackay  caters to  children who are hearing impaired and physically disabled. Bilodeau’s brother  Fréderic has cerebral palsy.

A lot of people have talked to me about seeing my brother at the Olympics and how it touched them,” Bilodeau said in a Toronto Star interview. “There were so many people coming to me saying they have a handicapped sister or brother or their Dad was handicapped or had cerebral palsy. There were really, really touching stories that came to my ears and are really inspiring.

“If I could have helped a little bit some of these people and Frederic helped them, too, or our family, if we could have helped a little bit in motivating them for their goals or persevering in what they want to do, it’s priceless for us to hear.”
