MONTREAL,  MARCH 18, 2013 - Graham Fraser, Federal Commissioner of Official Languages, will pay a visit to LaurenHill Academy in St.  Laurent on  Wednesday, March 20 (11 a.m.) to address the issues of bilingualism and linguistic rights in Canada. He has addressed CEGEP and university students in the past, but this will mark the first time the Commissioner speaks to high school students. His visit comes on the heels of the launch of the English Montreal School Board’s  much vaunted French portal. 

Mr. Fraser will also be a guest on the bilingual Anglais-French Show on LHA Radio: The Voice, LaurenHill’s student-run radio station at noon. It can be heard at The hosts, Jonathan Garceau and Mika Watts, under the direction of their teacher Louis Bilodeau, distinguished themselves a few weeks ago during a special live broadcast from the news conference where the EMSB  launched “Mr. Fraser’s office has requested to be interviewed by our students in both languages since our radio show  is also bilingual,” said LaurenHill Principal Claude Dansereau. “A professional video crew will be in place to film and to prepare a four minute segment to be used across Canada for the next three years. LaurenHill Academy is again shining.
