RECORDING ARTIST GREGORY CHARLES TO DELIVER KEYNOTE ADDRESS AS EMSB ADMINISTRATORS GET BACK TO WORK

MONTREAL, AUGUST 14, 2013 – In advance of the 2013-2014 academic year, in-school and central office administrators from the English Montreal School Board (EMSB) will gather at the Sheraton Laval (2440 Autoroute des Laurentides) on Thursday, August 15 and Friday, August 16 for a wide array of workshops and brainstorming sessions

Popular Quebec recording artist Gregory Charles will kick things off on Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. with a keynote address. Charles has enjoyed an extraordinary career as singer, pianist, conductor, actor and radio show host.   He is now conducting the chœurs du nouveau monde (New World Choirs) which includes notably Les Petits Chanteurs de Laval (The Little Singers of Laval) and Les Voix Boréales (Northern Voices), and before that, le Chœur Gospel de Laval (the Laval Gospel Choir). At the end of 2004, he released his first album, from his show, called Gospel Live Noir et Blanc.
 
Some of the workshop sessions over the two days will focus on marketing your school, international students, daycare, transitioning into Adult Education and Vocational Services,  social media, email etiquette, navigating through the world of autism and social media.
