SHADD HEALTH AND BUSINESS CENTRE TO RECOGNIZE FIRST GRADUATES FROM NEW ASSISTANCE IN HEALTH CARE FACILITIES PROGRAM

MONTREAL, SEPTEMBER 17, 2013 -  -The first graduates from the new Assistance in Health Care Facilities Program  at the Shadd Health & Business Centre in N.D.G. are  now prepared to enter the job market.

“It is with great pride that we congratulate the first class of 17 SHADD students who helped launch the program,” stated EMSB Chairman Angela Mancini
 
This 750 hour program trains the student to provide care, assistance and services related to the needs of a patient of any age. The students also learn to welcome and integrate persons in the care unit, provide care and comfort specific to the context of the unit, that is, they adapt the basic care and services to the clients condition as well as to the apparatus required.

“The demand for caregivers in health settings is tremendous and our graduates will proudly fulfill many needs of the health institutions in and around the Island of Montreal,” said SHADD Principal Silvana Crigna. “We presently have another 40 students enrolled and we wish our graduates the best in their future endeavors.”

A ceremony will be held at Shadd (1000 Old Orchard Street) on Tuesday, October 1 (7 p.m.).

Among their Health programs, Shadd also offers Pharmacy Technical Assistance.
