JUSTIN TRUDEAU TO INAUGURATE JOHN F. KENNEDY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT SUPPORT CENTRE

MONTREAL, APRIL 1, 2014 Ė Justin Trudeau, Member of Parliament for Papineau and leader of the Federal Liberal Party, is set to visit John F. Kennedy High School (3030 Villeray) in St. Michel on April 15 (10 a.m) †as the school will be inaugurating a new student support centre bearing his fatherís name.

The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Student Support Centre will provide comprehensive support service to all students, Secondary I through V. It is designed to provide additional assistance to students who request this help or for those who are referred by school staff.

The mandate of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Student Support Centre is to:

  • Provide a personalized plan for help with academic, personal, and/or social development;
  • Provide academic tutorials that will be geared to help students keep pace with the regular classroom program;†
  • Identify areas of difficulty;
  • Clarify and consolidate challenging concepts;
  • Teach the essential skills required to be successful in a particular subject area.

The personal and social support that will be available through the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Student Support Centre is designed to complement the excellent services already available at John F. Kennedy High School and the English Montreal School Board through the Guidance Department and other support services. †The school is situated in Trudeauís Papineau riding.
