MONTREAL, APRIL 13, 2015 – Montreal’s first ever special needs artisan market CREATABILITY will take place on Friday May 8,   from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Rekinexion  (38 Rockland, behind Rockland MD) in Town of Mount Royal.

Creatability is a unique venture that presents creative professionals with special needs the opportunity to promote and sell their handmade creations with a further mission of encouraging the integration of people with special needs into productive roles in our communities. The market will provide excellent opportunities to purchase meaningful, original and beautiful Mother’s Day gifts.

The Creatability Expo is a juried artisan market that will showcase 12 to 15 artisans, featuring Heidi Vormer (Remrov), who has autism and creates stunning hyper photorealistic drawings, Kirk Davidson, a talented painter who has Asperger’s Syndrome, jewelry by Kenza Kréations, and Eli Adams Photography from Vermont. While welcoming special needs artists to apply, sponsors will also be on hand, including Light a Dream, to support the artists and the long term vision of Creatability.

Organized by the Big Blue Hug, Rekinexion, and sponsored by Inspirations News, Creatability aims to encourage a paradigm shift of how society views what special needs people can achieve and the role they have in our society.

“Sales support coaches will be provided to any artisan that needs assistance in selling their wares,” share Jason Goldsmith, Founder of Creatability and The Big Blue Hug. “The vision that drives this endeavor begins with the artisan market and continues long term in supporting any person with an intellectual, developmental or physical in finding and maintaining meaningful employment, be it through self-employment or working for others.
