VINCENT MASSEY COLLEGIATE STUDENTS STEP UP FOR AUTISM SPEAKS CANADA

MONTREAL, JUNE 17, 2015 – Throughout their time at Vincent Massey Collegiate in Rosemount, student Sarah Camiano and a group of friends have worked tirelessly to raise awareness and money for Autism Speaks Canada.

Ensuring that their efforts go beyond their peers at school, Sarah and her “Walk it Out” team reached out to local businesses for monetary support as well as spent time at Toys “R” Us as well as Babies “R” Us to raise awareness amongst the general public.

Their efforts culminated in the annual Autism Speaks Canada walk on May 24 where Sarah and her team participated.

“Sarah’s leadership skills in both team building and fundraising are an inspiration to many, myself included,” said Rocco Speranza, Spiritual Community Animator at Vincent Massey Collegiate. “Her bright smile and positive philanthropic spirit are assets for the autism and special needs communities.  I applaud Sarah and her teammates for their important contribution in motivating the Vincent Massey Community to get involved. The “Walk it Out” team service their community as youth leaders of today, and future leaders of tomorrow.”
