JUSTIN TRUDEAU TO OPEN UP STORYTELLING CONTEST AT PIERRE ELLIOTT TRUDEAU ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

MONTREAL, MARCH 20, 2007- Justin Trudeau will give opening remarks to aspiring elementary school public speakers on Wed. March 21 (10 a.m.) at Pierre Elliott Trudeau Elementary School (6855 Cartier) in Rosemount. This will mark the first time he has visited the school named after his late father.

Students from a number of EMSB schools will be on hand to take part in the Regional Storytelling Program. Public speaking, in the form of storytelling, has become an integral part of the Grade 5 and 6 curriculum at the EMSB. It is felt that by teaching and encouraging public speaking, it helps students to overcome some of their shyness and enable them to assert themselves in front of others.

Justin Trudeau is seeking the federal Liberal nomination in the neighbouring Papineau riding.
