EMSB TO HOST MEGA DAY 2009 FEB. 6 AT WESTMOUNT HIGH

MONTREAL, JANUARY 29,  2009-    The English Montreal School Board will be hosting MEGA DAY 2009  at Westmount High School (4350 St. Catherine Street West) on Friday, February 6 (8:30 a.m.).

This one day leadership conference is being organized and run by 25 EMSB students  representing nine high schools. Another 40 EMSB students have been trained as group animators. Approximately 350 students from three English school boards (the EMSB, Lester B. Pearson  School Board and Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board) are expected to attend. This year's theme is “Magic creates Happy Endings and Leaders can create Magic.” 

There will be two keynote speakers: Mark Black, a double lung and heart transplant survivor and Blair Robertson, a renowned hypnotist.

In addition to many hands-on activities that will introduce, as well as enhance, leadership skills the day will end with a Much Music video dance for all participants!

In addition to Westmount High Schools, the others from the EMSB represented are Laurier Macdonald, Rosemount, Vincent Massey, John Paul I, John F. Kennedy, Marymount, James Lyng, Westmount, John Grant, Royal Vale, LaurenHill and Mackay Centre.
