MACKAY CENTRE SCHOOL TO EXPERIENCE OLYMPIC SPIRIT

Repercussion Theatre

MONTREAL, FEBRUARY   18, 2010  The Mackay Centre School in N.D.G (3500 Decarie),  which educates deaf and disabled children, will be presenting their own Olympic Week.

Programming  will commence on Tues. Feb. 23  ( 9 a.m.) with opening ceremonies. This will include a parade of nations with flags and national anthems, the reading of the Olympic oath, an artistic routine and a slide show on athletes and different sports from the Centre’s Rehabilitation team. An actual Olympic torch bearer will be on hand to meet up with a group from Mackay carrying their own cauldrons. All students will exit the gymnasium singing the Olympic theme song “I Believe.” At 10:30 a.m.  Team Canada Paralympic sledge hockey players  Benoit St-Amand (goalie) and Dany Verner (forward) will be on hand to visit classrooms.
