DUNRAE GARDENS STUDENTS GET A LESSON IN PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Repercussion Theatre

MONTREAL, OCTOBER 20, 2010 Safety was the top priority for the Société de Transport de Montréal (STM) as they recently provided a vital information session for Grade 5 and 6 students at Dunrae Gardens Elementary school in the Town of Mount Royal (TMR).

Leading the session were STM officers Marinos and Di Bartolo, as well as in attendance were André Maratta, Director of TMR Public Security, Captain Andrew Milukow from TMR Public Security, Municipal Councillor Erin Kennedy, and  EMSB Commissioner Liz Leaman.

The nearly 120 students in  attendance listened attentively in the gym as they were treated to an informative and presentation which detailed all the rules and regulations they will need when taking to Montreal’s public transportation system once they enter high school.

While the officers tried to keep the session as light-hearted at possible, they ensured that students understood the importance of being vigilant at all times, respecting STM and public property, as well as being aware of their surroundings and of course, remaining courteous to their fellow riders.
