MONTREAL, JANUARY 31, 2012 – In a special remote broadcast, CBC’s morning show Daybreak will broadcast live on February 17 (5:30 to 8:30 a.m) from the Royal West Academy auditorium in Montreal West.
For early birds, students, staff and the general public are invited to attend and watch the live broadcast take place.
In a unique format, all Royal West Academy students have been invited to submit pitches for the show on topics concerning the Royal West community and Montreal West. Recently, the producer of Daybreak visited Royal West Academy and spoke to the students about how to properly pitch a story to be considered for broadcast.
Students whose pitches have been chosen will have their story aired and may also be invited to help in the research, development, and production of the story itself.
CBC’s Daybreak is hosted by Mike Finnerty every morning and features interviews with the headline-makers, discussions of the day's hot topics and newscasts on the half-hour. Montrealers view it as the city's foremost source of substantial, thought-provoking morning radio program.
