MONTREAL, FEBRUARY 9, 2012 – The lights of the Montreal improv community will be shining on Marymount Academy in N.D.G (5100 Côte St. Luc Road) when the school hosts the Montreal Regional Tournament of the Canadian Improv Games.
Four EMSB schools are entered in the competition, which begins on Wednesday, February 15 and runs every evening at 7:30 p.m. The finals will take place on Saturday, February 18.
The first evening will feature senior students from Laurier Macdonald High School in St. Léonard, Westmount High School, LaSalle High School and defending national champions John Rennie High School from Pointe-Claire. The improv action continues on Thursday, when senior students from host Marymount Academy will battle their from peers Royal West Academy in Montreal West, Beaconsfield High School and St. Thomas High School from Pointe Claire.
Junior students are in action on Friday in an evening which features defending junior champion St. Thomas High School in Pointe Claire, Royal West Academy, Westmount High School, as well as Beaconsfield High School and Laurentian High School from Lachute.
The top five teams from the senior competition will square off in the finals on Saturday. Tickets for each evening are $8 and available at the door. For more information, visit: montreal.improv.ca
