MONTREAL, AUGUST 28, 2012 – Since making the transition to a French immersion elementary school in 2010, the enrolment at Cedarcrest Elementary School (1505 Muir) in St. Laurent has increased steadily, highlighted by 90 more students to begin the 2012 – 2013 academic year.
Overseeing the growth has been Principal Rania Delis, who will mark the beginning of her third at Cedarcrest on August 29.
“The French Immersion program was implemented to meet the needs of our families in the Ville St. Laurent community,” said Delis. “Young families are moving into the area and our community is growing. There is a demand for the French Immersion and we have the enrolment to prove it.”
“I’m thrilled to be able to welcome so many new faces to the Cedarcrest family. I believe this is going to be a wonderful year and hopefully the boost in enrolment is a sign of a very bright future for our school and for Ville St. Laurent,” added Delis.
