|MERTON SCHOOL TO HOLD AN ARCADES GAME DAY BENEFITTING THE MONTREAL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL|
MONTREAL, DECEMBER 17, 2012- In keeping up with the holiday spirit, Merton Elementary School ( 5554 Robinson Avenue) in Côte Saint-Luc, will be hosting an Arcades Game Day on Thursday December 20. All proceeds from this event will be donated to purchase toys for the boys and girls at the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
Since the beginning of November, the students at Merton have been working together to combine their imaginative ideas in order to create Arcade Games, as well as prizes, made completely from recycled materials such as cardboard boxes, juice boxes, plastic bottles, paper, and milk cartons. Each class has made at least two games and some as many as eight.
Although the main goal of this event is to raise funds for the Montreal Children’s Hospital, the preparation has also given the students an opportunity to develop their leadership skills and their ability to work together towards a common goal.
Admission for the event will be $2 per child. Adults are also invited to attend from 12:45 p.m. tp 2 p.m. and must be accompanied by a child. Admission for adults is also $2.
The students, faculty, and staff look forward to seeing everyone for this fun-filled day supporting a great cause.
