Press Releases

MONTREAL, FEBRUARY 11, 2013 – In keeping with the EMSB Green Policy, for the second consecutive year, the Green Committee will be offering a series of grants and awards to EMSB schools and centres to ensure the success of their five year Green Action Plan.

A total of three EMSB Green Awards, in the amount of $1,000, will be given per pillars of the program: education, green and healthy space, or sustainable resource use. Three additional EMSB Green Recognition Prizes will be handed out per pillar in the amount of $500.

The Awards program acknowledges the important and innovative green initiatives that have taken place at the grassroots level in EMSB schools and centres and are linked to their respective action plans, while the Prize program is designed to help schools, centres and the administration building implement future environmental initiatives ensuing from their action plans.

To be eligible for an award or prize, applicants must describe a completed school or centre-based initiative that has emerged from their Green Action Plan. These initiatives should also be linked to one of the three pillars. Recipients of an award or prize must use the funds towards the financing of a future green initiative within their school or centre.

The submissions must be sent to the attention of the Green Plan Committee by 5:00 p.m. on March 31, 2013 either by internal mail or via the following email
