INFORMATION MEETING FOR PROPOSED NEW HIGH SCHOOL IN COTE SAINT-LUC SET FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 8

MONTREAL, MAY 1,  2013- The English Montreal School Board (EMSB)
will hold a public information meeting on Wednesday, May 8 (7:30 p.m.) for the proposed new high school in Côte Saint-Luc  named Wallenberg Academy. It will take place at the  Côte Saint-Luc Aquatic and Community Centre (5794 Parkhaven Avenue), followed by a tour of the school building across the street.

Wallenberg Academy is expected to begin operations for the 2014-2015 academic year, provided an optimum number of 60  students enrol next fall. The intent is to start with  Secondary I students,  and Secondary II as well,  if the numbers merit. The curriculum will include specialty programs focusing on sports concentration,  heritage languages and enriched science, math, English and music.

The new school would cohabitate with John Grant High School, Marymount Adult Education Centre, the CARE Program and the EMSB Book Processing Centre.
