|LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR VISITS MACKAY CENTER|
MONTREAL, MARCH 21, 2002– The Honourable Lise Thibault, Lieutenant-Governor of Quebec, toured the Mackay Center recently.
Mackay Center is a rehabilitation facility for physically disabled children and deaf and hard-of-hearing children and adults. It also houses the Mackay Center School of the English Montreal School Board for the children who require intensive rehabilitation services.
Madame Thibault visited the Augmentative Communication class during a music therapy lesson, a play group for deaf toddlers, and a computer class for deaf children and physically disabled children. She was also shown the seating department, where adaptations and repairs are made to wheelchairs and other equipment used by the disabled and then addressed the students and staff.
