|EMSB CONTINUES TO GO GREEN WITH WATER FOUNTAINS|
MONTREAL, JULY 8, 2013 – With a total investment of $594,000, the English Montreal School Board has recently replaced a number of water fountains across its territory, ensuring that students and staff can do their part to conserve water.
The water fountains, produced by the Elkay Company, dispense filtered water in the traditional way as well as offers an additional option that allows users to conveniently and quickly fill water bottles. A touch-less sensor controls the water bottle function, ensuring that students of all ages can replenish their bottles.
“A five-year Action Plan, developed by our Green Committee was finalized in June 2011. These fountains will serve as another resource for our students and staff to be environmentally conscious,” said Robert Stocker, Director General of the English Montreal School Board.
At the EMSB’s Administration Building, from only four fountains, over 20,000 water bottles were saved during the 2012-2013 school year.
