EMSB CHAIRMAN AND VICE CHAIRMAN ANNOUNCE THEIR INTENTIONS TO RUN IN MONTREAL ELECTION

MONTREAL, SEPTEMBER 11, 2013- English Montreal School Board (EMSB) Chairman Angela Mancini and Vice-Chairman Sylvia Lo Bianco announced today that they will be candidates in the November 3, 2013 Montreal elections under the banner of L'Équipe Denis Coderre.  

Ms. Mancini will be a candidate for the borough council in Anjou, where she resides. Ms. Lo Bianco is running in Montreal North, where she lives.   

Ms. Mancini and Ms. Lo Bianco  maintain that they intend to stay on in the current positions with the EMSB. “I am excited about this new challenge and I see  a  tremendous amount of synergy between the municipal political scene and the school board,” said Ms. Mancini.  
 
Ms.  Mancini holds a Master's Degree in organizational management from Laval University. She also has a BSc, with honours, in nutritional science from McGill University. She currently holds a management position in the health sector.  She is presently in her third term as commissioner for the EMSB and has served as the chairman since 2007.

Since obtaining her degree in Political Science from Concordia University in 1992, Ms. Lo Bianco has served as political attachée for Federal Members of Parliament and Ministers. For the past 16 years  she has held this position for Denis Coderre. She has been a  commissioner at the EMSB   since 1998 and held the position of vice-chairman since 2007.
