|QUEBEC FEDERATION OF HOME & SCHOOL ASSOCIATION (QFHSA) PLEASED TO BE HOLDING ANNUAL FALL CONFERENCE AT LBPSB’s BEURLING ACADEMY|
MONTREAL, OCTOBER 30, 2013 – Beurling Academy Home & School Association will be hosting the 69th Annual Quebec Federation of Home and School Associations Fall Parents’ Conference on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 8 am to 4 pm. In response to the ongoing concerns of parents in regards to relationships and the effects they have on family and society, the theme of the QFHSA Fall Conference will be “Get Involved - Education Matters” with an emphasis on Healthy Relationships.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Dale Stack, Professor from the Department of Psychology and Centre for Research in Human Development, Concordia University who will be speaking on “Fostering healthy parent--‐child relationships and emotional competence in children.” A variety of workshops will also be offered on how to create and encourage healthy relationships for parents and students, regarding financial literacy, nutrition, social life and body image. There will also be an exploration of the Vocational/Technical options for high school students, Constitutions & By-laws, and more.
The conference is usually held for Home & School parents from across the province but non-members are always welcome. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Registration fees are $25.00 for Home and School members and $35 for non-members. The registration fee covers the workshops and includes a lunch.
Quebec Federation of Home and School Associations is a not for profit organization that promotes the involvement of parents, students, educators and the community at large in the advancement of learning and acts as a voice for parents.
