|LESTER B. PEARSON HIGH AND LEONARDO DA VINCI SCARE HUNGER TOGETHER|
MONTREAL, NOVEMBER 25, 2013 – With a friendly wager on the line, Lester B. Pearson High School in Montreal North challenged Leonardo Da Vinci Academy in R.D.P to see which school could collect the most non-perishable goods throughout October in their annual “We Scare Hunger” food drive.
In a battle that saw the first half of the month leaning the way of Lester B. Pearson, by the end of Halloween, it was Leonardo Da Vinci Academy who nearly doubled up their counterparts by raising a total of 5,021 cans to 2,581.
While the elementary school won the challenge, the real winner was La Fondation Beaulieu-Blondin as they will be the beneficiary of 7,606 cans of non-perishable goods.
The campaign was highlighted by a 5-kilometer walk through the streets of Montreal North and R.D.P. by the entire student body of Lester B. Pearson High School. Taking place on October 9th, the walk was intended to raise awareness for their campaign throughout the two communities as well as bring the schools together.
