|LESTER B. PEARSON HIGH SCHOOL SCARES HUNGER FOR SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR|
MONTREAL, OCTOBER 31, 2014 – As an finale to the “We Scare Hunger” food drive, Lester B. Pearson High School (11575 P.M. Favier) in Montreal North is once again taking their message to the community with their Walk to End Hunger on Tuesday, November 4 from 8:15 to 9:30 am.
Throughout October, students have been collecting non-perishable goods as apart of the “We Scare Hunger” campaign. The walk will serve as the culmination of the campaign and is a symbolic gesture to raise awareness throughout the Montreal North community.
“Hunger is a real problem in our community and every year more are struggling and need the support of food banks in order to put food on their tables,” said Pela Nickoletopoulos, Principal of Lester B. Pearson High School. “They could be your neighbours, the people you pass on the street or even friends. As a school community, we are working together to collect all that we can to make a tangible difference as well as raise awareness to ensure the campaign continues well beyond October.”
