|GRADE 4 STUDENTS TO ENGAGE IN FRENCH WITH NEIGHBOURING CPE YOUNGSTERS|
MONTREAL, DECEMBER 5, 2014 – It will be an exciting Monday, December 5 for Grade 4 students at Dante Elementary School (6090 Lachenaie) in St. Léonard when they welcome children from a nearby French-speaking centre de la petite enfance (CPE) for the entire day.
Children from the CPE will arrive at Dante at 9:30 am and pair up with buddies from Grade 4 until their departure at 2 pm. The day is intended to be both a fun and educational experience for all involved.
As a bilingual school, Dante students will communicate with their buddies, aged four to five, entirely in French. The goal of the project is to further develop a partnership with the community as a whole. Together, the buddies will work together on a number of activities meant to encourage literacy and the school’s green initiatives.
Following a morning of activities and lunch, the children will finish the day with a sneak preview of the Dante Holiday Concert, set to take place on Tuesday, December 9 as a part of CTV’s Spirit of Giving campaign.
