|ST. GABRIEL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO MARK INTERNATIONAL HERITAGE WEEK|
MONTREAL, DECEMBER 9, 2014 – St. Gabriel Elementary School in Pointe St. Charles is celebrating International Heritage Week, with presentations on Tuesday (12:45 p.m.) and Wednesday (1 p.m.) and Thursday (8:30 a.m.).
On Friday December 12 (8 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.) all classes will be preparing an international buffet in the morning, with a chance to and eat and enjoy some entertainment in the afternoon. The menu will feature Christmas marshmallows (Canada), Indian meatballs (India) , roll ham and cheese (Holland and Spain), Japanese Vermicelli (Japan), Hummus and Christmas Tree veggies (Israel), creamy Argentinian salad (Argentina).
“The students will learn about different cultures and traditions,” says Principal Jim Daskalakis. “They will dwell into the history and folklore of many countries. It is an opportunity for the student to embrace the world around them and know they are part of it. In addition to have fun and experience the preparation and wonderful tastes of some ethnic foods.”
