|PIERRE ELLIOTT TRUDEAU CELEBRATES READING THROUGHOUT FEBRUARY|
MONTREAL, FEBRURAY 27 2015 – Since reading should be an integral part of any child’s upbringing, the staff at Pierre Elliott Trudeau Elementary School in Rosemount dedicated the entire month of February to their love of books.
The month began with each classroom decorating their door to represent their favorite book cover and the theme was quickly adopted throughout the whole school as students were encouraged to read both in class and at home.
In addition to reading activities such as story time with the principal as well as the older students reading to younger ones, the school also welcomed noted storyteller Stephanie Bénéteau, who shared her favorite stories. Students also had the chance to immerse themselves in their books by dressing up as their favorite literary characters for a day.
To foster reading beyond the month, the school also held a book fair and encouraged children to donate finished or outgrown books and exchange them for ones they have yet to read.
