|ROYAL VALE SCHOOL BAGS $2,213 FOR NEPAL RELIEF EFFORTS|
MONTREAL, JUNE 5, 2015 – Over the last several weeks, high school students from Royal Vale in N.D.G. raised $2,213 for the Nepali relief efforts in light of the two major earthquakes that struck the Asian country in April and May.
With the help of Sheila Cherenfant, students collected $1,058 by bagging groceries at the local Metro grocery store on Queen Mary. Students also organized a bake sale at school that raised $395 and with the help of Stella Halaris, held a casual dress day that amassed $760.
Pierre Claude Paré from the Canadian Red Cross came to Royal Vale to accept the cheque and personally thank all the students involved.
“We want to thank our students and everyone else involved who helped them fundraise for this urgent and worthy cause,” said Principal Nathalie Lacroix-Maillette. “They showed how working as a team can bring about positive results that benefit those whom are going through incredibly difficult times. You have all made our Royal Vale family proud.”
