|FIRST CANADIAN FINANCIAL SERVICES TO SPONSOR VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION NIGHT|
MONTREAL, FEBRUARY 20, 2003- The English Montreal School Board (EMSB) will hold its second Parent Volunteer Appreciation Evening on Wednesday, April 23 at College Nôtre Dame in Westmount. This will precede National Volunteer Week, which takes place April 27 to May 3.
Time and space will not allow the EMSB to honour all of its nearly 1,300 parent volunteers in person. Therefore, only those individuals who have volunteered for more than five years will attend the reception, representing some 500 people.
All volunteers will be recognized with certificates. Their names will also be printed in a special section of the EMSB Express Newspaper, 32,000 copies of which will distributed in March. It is also expected that many schools will plan their own activities during National Volunteer Week.
First Canadian Financial Services (www.fcfs-inc.com) and the Global Education Marketing Corporation (www.globalresp.com), specialists in Registered Education Savings Plans (RESPs), will be the official sponsors of Volunteer Recognition Night. First Canadian’s Director of Operations Joseph Afshar will serve as the evening’s honourary chairman.
In conjunction with the EMSB Central Parents’ Committee (CPC), First Canadian hold information seminars on RESPs at Laurier Macdonald High School and Royal West Academy in May.
