|SINCLAIR LAIRD SCHOOL TO RECEIVE $8,000 FROM SAPUTO AND GRAND DÉFI PIERRE LAVOIE|
MONTREAL, NOVEMBER 6, 2015 – While students at Sinclair Laird Elementary School (8380 Wiseman) in Park Extension are too young to participate in the annual Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie, they are not too young to reap the hard-earned rewards as on Monday, November 9 at 10:30 am, the school will be presented with a $8,000 cheque.
The school was chosen by the Saputo Foundation last year to be a beneficiary of the fundraising efforts of its participants in the annual 1,000 kilometer bicycle event which begins in Saguneay-Lac-Saint-Jean and ends in Montreal.
The funds will be used to enrich the sporting equipment at the school, keeping in line with the theme of the Grande Défi Pierre Lavoie which encourages fitness as well as overall healthy living and eating habits.
Representatives from Saputo as well as a number of the bicyclists who participated in the Grande Défi Pierre Lavoie will be on hand to present the cheque to Principal Silvana Crigna and Regional Director, East Sector, Anna Villalta.
