|SINCLAIR LAIRD SCHOOL RECEIVES $8,000 FROM SAPUTO AND GRAND DÉFI PIERRE LAVOIE|
MONTREAL, NOVEMBER 12, 2015 – While students at Sinclair Laird Elementary School (8380 Wiseman) in Park Extension are still too young to participate in the annual Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie, they are not too young to reap the hard-earned rewards as on Monday, November 9, the school was presented with with an $8,000 donation.
The school was chosen by the Saputo Foundation last year to be a beneficiary of the fundraising efforts of its participants in the annual 1000 kilometer bicycle event which begins in Saguneay-Lac-Saint-Jean and ends in Montreal.
In advance of the annual summer-time race, the team from Saputo visited Sinclair Laird multiple times to get to know the students and participate in various physical education activities with the them.
The funds will be used to enrich the sporting equipment at the school, keeping in line with the theme of the Grande Défi Pierre Lavoie which encourages fitness as well as overall healthy living and eating habits.
