MONTREAL, DECEMBER 3, 2015 – Continuing a holiday tradition which began nine years ago, John Caboto Academy (8955 Meunier) in Ahuntsic opened up their doors to the community at large on Saturday, December 5.

Truly a highlight of the calendar for families in and around John Caboto Academy, the school once again hosted a bevy of activities for the children such as a magician, face-painting, decorating of ornaments, a reptile zoo as well as the opportunity to have lunch with Santa.
As always, a professional photographer was on hand to give families the option of skipping the long line at the mall and have their holiday portrait taken with Santa.

“We do not charge an entrance fee, but we ask people to bring a non-perishable good which is donated to the Spirit of Giving campaign,” said Rosie Sederico, Chair of the Governing Board at John Caboto Academy. “Due to the generosity of the community, we also always have donated food and raffle prizes, which we sell, and the money collected from those is donated to the Telethon of Stars.”

“It’s a wonderful event that has become a tradition in our school,” said Lucy Buscemi, Principal of John Caboto Academy. “It started in my first year as principal, where along with the PPO and Governing Board, we thought it would be nice to have an event to bring everyone together. This has become the highlight of the school year for everyone at John Caboto Academy and in our neighborhood.”
