EMSB HIGH SCHOOL PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST SET FOR APRIL 15

MONTREAL, MARCH 30, 2016 – The English Montreal School Board’s most dynamic communicators will once again take to the podium at the 2016 EMSB Public Speaking Competition, which is set to take place at Lester B. Pearson High School (11575 P.M. Favier) in Montreal North on Friday, April 15. 

Cycle 1 (Secondary I-II) students will deliver personal narrative speeches while Cycle II (Secondary III-V) students will focus on persuasive speeches on topics of social or political importance. 
 
As with past years, Cycle I winners will be considered to present their winning speeches to the Council of Commissioners while Cycle II students will have an opportunity to participate in the Rotary Club Public Speaking Finals in May 2016. The Women’s Canadian Club will award the Secondary IV winner with an all expenses paid week to Encounters with Canada in Ottawa and an invitation to deliver their winning speech at their May meeting.
