MORE THAN 800 EMSB FANS TO ATTEND SUNDAY'S PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL GAME

MONTREAL, JANUARY 16, 2007- The first English Montreal School Board (EMSB) Day will take place this Sunday (4 p.m.) at the Montreal American Basketball Association (ABA) franchise's game against the Strong Island Sound at the Centre Pierre Charbonneau (3000 Viau).

This is a followup to last June's successful EMSB Night at the Montreal Impact soccer game, in which more than 3,500 tickets were sold through schools. More than 800 EMSB students, staff and family will be on hand Sunday.

EMSB Chairman Dominic Spiridgliozzi and Director General Antonio Lacroce will take part in the ceremonial tipoff. Montreal head coach Nevio Marzinotto is the physical education teacher at the EMSB's John Paul I Junior High School in St. Léonard. Star forward Shawne Brown attended Coronation Elementary School as a child and still remains active there as a volunteer coach.

A number of EMSB students will perform musical numbers during the game's quarter breaks and a half time.
