|ROSEMOUNT STUDENTS TO HOLD INTER-FAITH DISCUSSION ON PEACE AND UNITY|
MONTREAL, FEBRUARY 9, 2017 – Students at Rosemount High School (3737 Beaubien) will be participating in an inter-faith workshop on Tuesday, February 21 (9:45 a.m.) and takethe opportunity to discuss the importance of unity and togetherness with representatives from the Christian, Jewish and Islamic faiths.
The idea for the workshop came as a result of the recent tragedy in Quebec City, which prompted many discussions in the school.
Organized by Spiritual and Community Animator Vince Lacroce, students will meet with Father Gerald Westphal, former EMSB Spiritual and Community Animator and Priest at Saint-Boniface Church, Rabbi Reuben J. Poupko, Spiritual leader of Beth Israel Beth Aaron Congregation in Côte Saint-Luc,and Ms. Noor Jehan Ghauri, Social Activist for the Islamic Centre of Quebec.
In addition to hearing about the respective religions, the students and spiritual leaders will discuss how to build bridges between communities and how to promote peace through education.
