|ALOUETTES TO FACE ROYAL IN FUNDRAISER FOR YOUNG LEUKEMIA PATIENT|
MONTREAL, FEBRUARY 16, 2007- When members of the Montreal Alouettes visit local schools during their off-season basketball tour, the opposition is always made up of teachers and other staff. That won't be the case on Tuesday, February 27 (10 a.m.) at John Paul I Junior High School (8455 Pré-Laurin) in St. Léonard.
The physical education teacher at John Paul I is Nevio Marzinotto, the head coach of the Montreal Royal professional American Basketball Association (ABA) franchise. He will have some of his own players from the Royal in uniform to face the Als while helping to raise money for the Alessia Paolucci Foundation. Alessia, 5, suffers from leukemia. She is undergoing treatment at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Her sister Allana is a Secondary I student at John Paul I.
Students will make donations to the cause as they enter the gymnasium.
