|MARYMOUNT STUDENT PRESIDENT ORGANIZES FUNDRAISER FOR CHILDREN’S WISH FOUNDATION|
MONTREAL, FEBRUARY 12 2008- Sharna Dey, the president of the Marymount Academy Student Body, is organizing a musical fundraiser for the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada which has as its main goal to grant children living with high-risk life threatening illnesses, the opportunity to fulfill their most heartfelt wish. It will take place on Friday, February 22 at Marymount (5100 Cote St Luc Road).
The first show is from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and the second from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Admission will be free of charge for the children who are ill. Everyone else will be asked to donate $8. The show will include dances, songs, and performances from the Indian culture so that the children feel as if they have been transported to India. Marymount staff and students will perform. “I hope that the children that are sick get the opportunity to come and enjoy the day planned out for them,” she said. “This is my dream.”
