|EMSB TO HOST REGIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FAIR MARCH 16-18 AT MONTREAL NORTH SCHOOL|
MONTREAL,MARCH 11, 2008- The English Montreal School Board (EMSB) will host the Bell Montreal Regional Science & Technology Fair (BMRSTF) at Lester B. Pearson High School (11575 P.M. Favier) in Montreal North March 16 -18.
Ciriaco A. Piccirillo, Assistant Professor of Immunology and a Member of the Center for the Study of Host Resistance at McGill University, will be the keynote speaker at opening ceremonies on Sunday, March 16 at 10:45 a.m. The exhibits will open to the public at 12:15 p.m. This regional event will involve approximately 250 students from 30 schools and is expected to attract over 4,000 visitors.
“The Bell Montreal Regional Science and Technology Fair is one of the few academic events that challenge our students to excel at various levels, personally as individuals, cooperatively with partners, locally within the school community, regionally competing and sharing with students from other schools, and provincially coordinating the activity for all Quebec schools,” said Gio Spina, a science teacher at Lester B. Pearson High School who is chairing the event.
