MONTREAL, NOVEMBER 4 2008 - Laurier Macdonald High School in St. Léonard will be hosting its first ever Citizenship/Remembrance Day Celebration called “Canadian and Proud!”
The ceremony will take place on Monday, November 10 (9 a.m.) in the school auditorium. The purpose of this celebration is to keep alive the achievements and sacrifices made by those who served Canada in times of war and peace, to engage communities in remembrance of these achievements and sacrifices and to promote an understanding of their significance in Canadian life as we know it today.
English Montreal School Board Director General Antonio Lacroce and Liberal Member of Parliament for St. Léonard-St. MichelMassimo Pacetti will be among the speakers.
Citizenship Judge Barbara Seal will preside over the ceremony. Other guests will include: Commander K.A. Kubeck, CD1, Commanding Officer H.M.C.S. Donnacona; Mastercorporal Marco Mastanuono and colleagues from the Canadian Peacekeepers; Daniel Castonguay, Police Officer from Station 41; Dan Philip from the Black Coalition of Quebec; Rev.
