MONTREAL, NOVEMBER 24, 2009- The English Montreal School Board will host the teen sensation pop band the WOW Group for four visits Dec. 10 and 11 in support of CTV’s “Spirit of Giving,” which helps six local charities around the Montreal area. WOW consists of five teens, aged 15 to 20 years of age: Frankie Zulferino, 18, Eddie Moody, 18, Jake Lauckern, 16, Michael Rechner, 20 and Kyron Correia, 15. Later that day, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the group will return to Laurier Macdonald to sing Christmas Carols and for a live feed on CTV Montreal News.
WOW is quickly becoming a tween and teen super phenomenon. In six short months, the group is already making an impact on the pop music scene, quickly selling out their concert performances. Determined to give back, WOW knows they have the ability to make a difference. They have had the privilege to work with charitable organizations and causes such as Autism, Cystic Fibrosis and World Hunger. The group has also helped bring attention to organizations such as One Is Greater Than None, Cupcakes for Cancer and the Lollipops and Rainbow Foundation, which benefits the P.E.A.C.E. Fund, St Jude's Children’s Hospital, Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and Children Uniting Nations. WOW has also now formed its own charity called the WOW Care 4 Kids Campaign which raises awareness for kids’ causes around the world such hunger, abuse, cancer and education. Continuing with the spirit of giving back they are coming back to Montreal to support CTV’s Spirit of Giving.
WOW will be returning on January 16 ,2010 to perform at Club Soda. For more information log on to www.wowthegroup.com
