MONTREAL, QC., May 10, 2010 – An unprecedented press conference involving the spokespersons for the four largest English public school boards in the province, the Quebec Association of Independent Schools (QAIS) and Canada’s former commissioner of Official Languages will be taking place on Tuesday, May 11th at Nesbitt Elementary School.
The speakers will jointly call upon the Quebec government to respect the October 22nd, 2009 Supreme Court of Canada ruling, which found Bill 104 to be unconstitutional. They will also be urging the Quebec government to find ways to ensure the future of the English community schooling system.
