MONTREAL,  JUNE 25, 2010- The  English Montreal School Board (EMSB) will hold its  seventh annual Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament  on Wednesday, June 30  at the  Club de Golf St. Raphaël (111 de l’Église) in Île Bizard.  RBC Royal Banl Regional Vice-President, Commercial Financial Services, for  Western Quebec & Place Ville Marie  Tony Loffreda, is the  honourary chair.

Proceeds from the tournament will go towards the EMSB Scholarship Program, which benefits a number of current students and EMSB graduates, so that they can pursue their post secondary studies in the vocational sector, CEGEP  or  at the undergraduate level..   
Besides   18 holes of golf (shotgun start, Vegas style), there will be a brunch, cocktails,  dinner,  proficiency prizes and a raffle. A car from Civic Honda in Dollard des Ormeaux  will be  up for grabs for the first golfer to manage  a hole-in-one  at Hole Number 18.
Profiency prizes will be for the best winning foursome,  most honest, the  longest drive (male and female) and closest to the pin (male and female). A wide array of raffle items will  be up for grabs as well.

The organizing committee for the tournament is chaired by Mario Tirelli, the EMSB’s  director general.

About Tony Loffreda

Tony Loffreda is responsible for eight commercial banking vice-presidents who cover commercial banking for the Quebec West region and all major specializations including the financing of real estate, franchise, retail, automobile and knowledge based industries such as technology, cinema, health sciences and professionals for the province of Quebec. He is a member of the RBC Executive Committee, Human Resources and Donations Committee for the province of Quebec as well as a member of the National Executive Real Estate Credit Capital Committee for RBC

Tony began his career at a reputable accounting firm in 1984 and was a team leader in audit and accounting. He has worked in the financial services industry since 1990 and has made his way through the ranks in the industry having held numerous positions ranging from senior business banking manager, senior director corporate banking, Eastern Canada to the current executive position he holds in the commercial banking area at RBC. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree (BCom) from Concordia University and earned the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation from the University of Illinois. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. His past and present volunteer activities include serving as director or chairing fund raising activities for a variety of organizations including various chambers of commerce, hospitals and health care foundations and Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business.
