MONTREAL,  JUNE 30, 2010- The  English Montreal School Board (EMSB) held its  seventh annual Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament  on, June 30  at the  Club de Golf St. Raphaël in Île Bizard.  RBC Royal Bank  Regional Vice-President, Commercial Financial Services, for  Western Quebec & Place Ville Marie  Tony Loffreda, served as the  honourary chair.

Proceeds from the tournament will go towards the EMSB Scholarship Program, which benefits a number of current students and EMSB graduates, so that they can pursue their post secondary studies in the vocational sector, CEGEP  or  at the undergraduate level..   
Besides   18 holes of golf (shotgun start, Vegas style), there was a brunch, cocktails,  dinner,  proficiency prizes and a raffle. A car from Civic Honda in Dollard des Ormeaux  was  up for grabs for the first golfer to manage  a hole-in-one  at Hole Number 18. Nobody accomplished that feat this year.

A number of profiency prizes  were handed out: THE TEAM 990’s Wayne Bews, Elliott Price, Shaun Starr and advertiser Mark Barbieiri won for  the best winning foursome with a minus 10;  Ecosystem won for the most honest foursome; the  longest drive award went to Mario Argiropoulos (male) and Sabrina Sapone (female);  closest to the pin went to Phil Terriaca (male) and  Sabrina Sapone (female). A wide array of raffle items were up for grabs, including a Dell laptop, Apple Ipad, a Calloway golf bag and a fur lined coat.   

The organizing committee for the tournament waschaired by  ougoing EMSB Director General Mario Tirelli.
