|WESTMOUNT HIGH TO HOST STUDENT LEADERSHIP MEGA-DAY ON FRIDAY FEBRUARY 16|
MONTREAL, FEBRUARY 15, 2001— More than 300 secondary pupils from school boards across the island of Montreal will convene at Westmount High School (4350 Ste. Catherine Street West) on Friday February 16 for an annual student leadership symposium entitled "Colour The World."
Throughout the day workshops will take place dealing with such subjects as: student apathy, racism, peer pressure, vandalism, drop outs, dealing with pressure for excellence in academics, dealing with sport pressure, teenage pregnancy, functioning in a dysfunctional family setting, balancing work and school and how to beat alcohol and drug abuse.
The program will commence at 9:15 a.m., with closing ceremonies scheduled for 7 p.m. It is being organized jointly by the English Montreal School Board and the Lester B. Pearson School Board.
