MONTREAL, JULY 4, 2011 – With their minds overflowing with creativity, 329 students from 17 schools and the Mackay Centre entered the Pedagogical Services’ “Ideal Library” contest and after their colored pencils and crayons were finally put away, three entries were chosen as winners and one as an honorable mention.
The contest, which was organized by Melissa-Ann Ledo, Danielle Juneau and Julian Taylor, was open to every elementary school and the Mackay Centre. To narrow down the submissions, 10 finalists were chosen from each region, with one winner chosen per region. The honourable mention was selected out of the remaining 27 finalists.
The winners are as follows:
Region 1: Diego Coggia, Honore Mercier
Region 2: John Kokkinos, Gardenview
Region 3: Adrienne Alexandra Buell, Willingdon
Honourable Mention: David Sutherland, Royal Vale School
The winning pictures will be used on new promotional material being produced by the Pedagogical Services department to highlight the extensive and wonderful libraries at all English Montreal School Board institutions.
