A tsunami memorial service took place at Sinclair Laird Elementary School in Park Extension where the families of many students were directly affected by the tragic events in South Asia. Everyone wore a ribbon of hope. Sri Lanka students from each level came up on stage to light five candles. Students also read poems, prayers and others sang songs. Students were invited to tie their ribbon to two trees which will be planted on the school ground to remember and show their support to the victims of the tsunami. The event concluded with Spiritual Community Animator Daniel Sup playing the guitar and the choir of Sinclair Laird singing “Knocking on Heaven’s Door.”
