The English Montreal School Board (EMSB) launched its own formal exchange with the Jewish day school system on January 31 when a Grade 2 class from the Jewish People's and Peretz Schools (JPPS) visited with a Grade 6 class at nearby Coronation Elementary School to learn about the recent tsunami in South Asia. Coronation students and their families were directly affected by the tsunami. Last week one of the students in the Grade 6 class, Keshan Muthurajah, returned from Sri Lanka. He wrote an emotional essay on this experience which he shared with the JPPS students. The JPPS students presented a donation of $150 towards the Coronation tsunami fundraising campaign for UNICEF and World Vision.
