Westmount High School students continue to be very involved in the community and pennies can make a difference. The Student Council, under the supervision of C.J. Turner decided to raise money for the Montreal Children¹s Hospital. Alexandra Brand'slutsky, along with Jessica Weigensberg, Daniel Carin and Jon Erskine (all Grade 10 students), decided to hold penny wars during the last week of November and the first week of December every day at lunch. The event raised $1,174.74 for the hospital. Principal Claude Dansereau went to the hospital with the four student organizers on Feb. 10 to present a cheque to Tatiana Aparicio, the special events coordinator. The donation will be integrated in the "most urgent needs fund" of the hospital.
