A radio station and recording studio, planned and built by former student Daniel Orsi, was opened at Laurier Macdonald High School in St.-Léonard. To mark the occasion, representatives of local business, the EMSB and government joined students for an inaugural broadcast on 560 AM. Patrick Latang of the New 940 Montreal did a live simulcast for his station and Q92. Robert Vairo, formerly of CTV Montreal, attended in his capacity as president of the Montreal TV and Radio School The new station broadcasts via carrier current, thus using the school's electrical system to distribute its signal.
